Blake Lively is a stunning beauty. As “O” in the feature film adaptation of Don Winslow’s fantastically pulpy novel SAVAGES, she brings to life the free-spirited California girl involved in a three way romance to the big screen. A challenging role for sure as she steps away from her work on “Gossip Girl” to bring O to life.
When I sat down to talk with Blake, I found her to be a very kind and funny young woman who also happens to be extremely lovely. She has an easiness about her that makes for a relaxed conversation. We talked about how she took on elements of the movie that weren’t in the book, such as her doing the narration that runs throughout SAVAGES. We also touched on playing a character that was written as flawed and cynical in the novel and how O changed in her ultimate transition from book to screen.
SAVAGES opens this Friday at a theatre near you.
“I don’t think you can play a character that you judge.”
