Raid Redemption star Joe Taslim joins Fast Six, which has begun production

According to director Justin Lin, via his Twitter page, the sixth chapter in THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS saga has begun filming. Lin posted the following last night.

“It’s 2am & just got up for the 1st day of FF6. Always love the calm & silence of the night b4 going on set. Let’s go shoot a f@#kin’ movie!”

While the only movies in the franchise I have liked are the original and the recent FAST FIVE, the sixth film (FASTER THAN FIVE?) just jumped in my estimation by casting JOE TASLIM, star of THE RAID: REDEMPTION, as a villain in the movie.

Variety reports that Taslim will play Jah, “a cold-blooded killer who uses his martial arts and parkour skills to fight the pic’s protags.” That definitely works for me. This awesome cast now includes Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Luke Evans, Gina Carano and Michelle Rodriguez

FAST SIX (aka FAST TIMES AT DIESEL HIGH?) is slated to open on May 24th, 2013.
