Quite a few people are under the spell of GIRLS writer and star Lena Dunham. Her style is enduring and she knows a thing or two about awkward girl moments. It also helps that Dunham looks like your average chick. She actually reminds me of one of my own friends.
This new trailer for NOBODY WALKS was co-written by her and director, Ry Russo-Young. It’s actually kind of a lovely trailer, despite the delicate situation presented. I’ll tell you one thing– it would be hard for me to resist either Olivia Thirlby or John Krasinski. Thirlby innocently comes into the lives of this couple played by Krasinski and Rosemarie DeWitt (who is also gorgeous), and somehow triggers all of these emotions for everyone. It looks like a great film, and I’ll definitely be seeing it.
NOBODY WALKS releases on VOD on September 6th and in theaters on October 12th.
Martine, a 23-year-old artist from New York, arrives in Los Angeles to stay in the pool house of a family living in the hip and hilly community of Silver Lake. Peter, the father, has agreed to help Martine complete sound design on her art film as a favor to his wife. Martine innocently enters the seemingly idyllic life of this open-minded family with two kids and a relaxed Southern California vibe. Like a bolt of lightning, her arrival sparks a surge of energy that awakens suppressed impulses in everyone and forces them to confront their own fears and desires. Exquisitely orchestrated by Ry Russo-Young (You Won’t Miss Mescreened at the 2009 Festival) and cowritten by Lena Dunham (Tiny Furniture), this potent charting of inner urges and sufferings links characters in an intricate dance of lust, denial, and deception.
