Chances are you may have missed it in theaters, seeing as the theatrical run was fairly limited, but on October 16th you’ll have an opportunity to catch director Wes Anderson’s MOONRISE KINGDOM on blu-ray/DVD. Starring Bruce Willis, Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman, with newcomers Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward, the film is one of the most well-executed, whimsical, and funny entries in Anderson’s repertoire. It’s definitely one of the best films I’ve seen this year, which I liken to a cinematic stage play fable with all the usual Andersonisms fans have come to expect from the auteur.
