This latest column on our digital confrere site DVD CLINIC asks

YOU to be participate and yes, ladies and germs….SHOW US YOUR
SHIT!! If you’ve got a cool collection of DVDs, movie posters, toys,
comic books, figurines, an awesome home theater set-up that you just
have to share with the rest of the world of movie nerds who reside
on this very site, this column is for you! Just read the
requirements below and drop us a line at [email protected]
with pics, videos and commentary about your nifty stuff and your
collection might be the next one up here.

REQUIREMENTS:

1) Please include any basic personal info on yourself, so others
could know who the f*ck you are. Age, sex, geographical location,
what you do in life, etc….

2) Take some pictures or videos of any cool shit you have in your
pad, and send it along with your message to us. Make sure that every
picture/video is explained and you don’t just send us a bunch of
pics and say “Here’s my shit!”, cause that’s not what
we’re looking for. We need some words attached to the pics, what
they are, where you might’ve got it, shit like that.

3) Try and zone in on a couple of your FAVORITE AND UNIQUE ITEMS
and point those out as well. If possible, let our readers know WHERE
you might’ve bought them, etc…

This is our living room area
taken from the dining room. We chose to decorate with framed 27 x 40
posters from various animated films. (Check Moviegoods.com,
Rick’s Movie Graphics,
Allposters.com
and Pixpostercellar)
I used to have up giant banners from mostly

action films, but when my girlfriend moved in this was a compromise.
The couch and recliner chairs face a 50 inch plasma wired for both
HD DVD & Blu-Ray because I refuse to have a studio tell me what
I can and cannot watch. There are also various game systems, CD
players, DVD burners, DVR and the newly added 7.1 HD surround. Those
are 25 dollar IKEA lights
at the front corners. I take full responsibility for the plaid couch
because it was cheap.

The kitchen which is off the
living room is rather small, but it was big enough for another 2
framed animated posters. They used to have posters for 300 and
Jessica Alba’s infamous poster for

Sin

City

, but once again having a girlfriend live with you put an end to
that.

This is the spare bedroom
where obviously dvd’s dominate one of the walls. I used to have this
in the living room, but I moved it to try and “class up”
the living room when the other bedroom became a spare. I do not know
how many there are, I lost count a few years ago. But my first dvd
which was bought from Reel.com
back in 1998 was the original dvd of True Romance. I used to have
more, but lately I have enjoyed trading in boxes for HD or Blu-Ray
discs. The shelves I had to build into the walls because they don’t
really build shelves that are this big, unless you shop with Boltz,
which I can’t afford. Bracket shelves are cheaper and you can get
them at any hardware store. I need to build more which is why they
are stacked on the floor as well.

Next to the dvd’s is a
revolving CD rack and in front of that is a giant NECA
gremlin which I bought online. It actually came shattered and I had
to epoxy it back together, but that’s a whole other set of pictures.
It’s base is heavy and the shippers I take it dropped it every which
way possible.

Here it is in an older
location at my last house. Spy Kids 3D glasses added an extra
Gremlin touch.

I started having a retro
mood and decided to put out the packaged Star Wars toys that I grew
up with when they came out back in 1983. I need to rework this
shelf to make it a little neater. Surprisingly there are lots of
stores that sell packaged Star Wars toys from the 70’s & 80’s.
Jedi is the easiest to find. You can see on the surrounding shelves
I have lots of random shit.

I know what you’re thinking,
“What the hell does a tiger have to do with three morbid
individuals?” The answer is, “I have no idea, but why
can’t we all just get along?” This is on the spare bed next to
the movie wall. M&M pillows are from the M&M store in

Las Vegas

, skeleton is from a campus bookstore, tiger from the orange country
fair, Jigsaw at Aahs and Nightmare Before Christmas Boogie Man at Jay
& Silent Bob’s Secret Stash.

This is our main bedroom.
You can see on the shelves a variety of oddball little things

plush, Buzz Lightyear and a shark in a jar. Broadway cards are from
when I lived in the NYC area.

Two
of my favorite posters, mostly because I was able to get them
signed. The first is Evil Dead which I got signed in 2005 at the
Horrorfind convention in

Baltimore
,
MD.

The second is the Face/Off poster signed by both Travolta and Cage
who appeared in NYC 3 weeks apart at the

92nd Street

Y at a film series. I did have them in frames in my bedroom, but
again, you can’t hang the Evil Dead poster above your bed if you
expect to get laid (when your girlfriend hates horror movies).
