Guillermo Del Toro‘s monsters vs. robot apocalypse epic PACIFIC RIM has just unleashed its final trailer and it’s chock full of all the rock ’em sock ’em badass battle you could hope for. The trailer gives a few more teases into the story and characters, specifically where the monsters came from and first struck as well as the birth of the Jaeger program and how it works with its pilots. Nothing spoilery, really, but just enough to pique your curiosity. Oh, and yeah, tons of new footage featuring robots beating the shit out of monsters.

If you’re one of the few who are still on the fence about this, consider the alternative. To me, this looks like the perfect recipe for a summer blockbuster and coming from team Del Toro it’s highly unlikely it will be a contrived mess of effects over story. I don’t bow to an alter of the director, but he’s certainly proven to deliver something more fun and original than your typical blockbuster fare.
