Jack Bauer is going to London in 24: Live Another Day

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

After having seasons set in Los Angeles, Washington, DC, and New York, CTU Agent Jack Bauer is heading to Europe for the upcoming revival of 24. 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY will take place in a single day like all previous seasons of the series but will be compressed into twelve episodes, removing the show’s trademark real-time plot device. Along with that change will be the drastic shift from moving the show from our shores to London.

Showrunner Evan Katz has assembled quite a few cast and crew from the original run of 24 for the new season including fan favorite Mary Lynn Rajskub as Chloe. Katz did give some insight as to where the new season will be taking star Kiefer Sutherland and it sounds like good old Jack Bauer territory:

“Four years ago, we left Jack a fugitive from justice and we’re going to pick him up four years later in London,” Katz said. Added Coto, “Jack is soon back on the run and it takes us into the streets of London and in places that break new ground for the show. We’ve shot in New York, Washington, Los Angeles and Cape Town — but now we’re in London and Jack’s loose on the streets of Europe, hunted by and hunting bad guys.”

I was a big fan of 24, even through the mediocre seasons. Most of what made the show great was Sutherland’s dedication to making Jack Bauer a complete and total badass. The action was exceptional for a network television series and I was sad to see the series go off the air. A big screen 24 movie never came to fruition despite the attachment of Antoine Fuqua at one point. Sutherland went on to star in two seasons of TOUCH but you can’t stop Jack.

24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY is slated to premiere on FOX in 2014.
