The first photo of Grant Gustin in the new Arrow spinoff series, The Flash, has been revealed!
Gustin first appeared as Barry Allen in Arrow, where he was later involved in the laboratory accident that left him with mysterious speed powers. Arrow left Gustin’s appearance with the origin cliffhanger and now he’s all geared up to make his first appearance as the superhero known only as The Flash, which is set to debut its pilot for the 2014-2015 season. The pilot is directed by Arrow alum David Nutter and written by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kriesberg and Geoff Johns. The new costume, which only reveals the head for now, is designed by three-time Academy Award winner Colleen Atwood, who is also responsible for Arrow’s duds.
Take a look:
It’s pretty cool to see The Flash back in live-action form, even if it’s for the small screen, which isn’t a knock. Arrow is doing exceptionally well and part of that reason is how much the show has embraced its comic-book roots, never afraid to venture into the more colorful designs from the printed page (although typically muted down). Other castmembers for the show include Jesse L. Martin as Detective West, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Candice Patton as Iris West, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon, Tom Cavanagh as Harrison Wells, and original Flash star from the ’90’s show, John Wesley Shipp, who will make an appearance in an undisclosed role for the pilot.
