Marc Webb names which villain he wants in The Amazing Spider-man 3

With THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 opening this weekend, the almost $100 million it made at the domestic box office would have been enough to greenlight a sequel…if the studio wasn’t already committed to at least one more movie with Andrew Garfield and Marc Webb and numerous spin-offs planned. The only question is: where will Webb take the franchise next? With THE SINISTER SIX and VENOM movies already on their way to the big screen, the question will be if the bad guy in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 3 will connect to one of those movies or be an all new foe for the hero.

During an interview with Comic Book.com, director Marc Webb was asked which villain he would like to tackle next. His answer was not surprising given what we know about the next films in development but should serve as a positive sign for fans of the comic book series.

“Kraven,” Webb replied. “Kraven. I like the idea of Kraven. The Vulture. Ock. I always thought the idea of Mysterio was interesting. Maybe Scorpion. But really, Kraven I think is kind of interesting.”

Kraven is a character fans have clamored for as he is not quite as supernatural as enemies like Lizard, Venom, or Electro. Kraven’s psychopathic personality and enhanced physical abilities would make him one of the more unique villains in a Spider-man movie. While THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 has furthered the story thread that villains have been manufactured, in part, by OsCorp, Kraven would make for a nice breath of fresh air in the conspiracy-centric mythology of the new films. The question now is who could play a good Kraven in the next movie?

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 3 is slated for release on June 10, 2016. THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 is now playing.
