Principal photography has officially begun on Star Wars: Episode VII

It's official: principal photography has begun on J.J. Abrams' STAR WARS: EPISODE VII. Some filming has already been completed on the new movie, but Bad Robot has officially announced on twitter Abrams has started work on the next STAR WARS saga, and tweeted a photo of the clapperboard with the STAR WARS logo.

Yes, it's just an image of a clapperboard with some sand on it, but it still makes this STAR WARS fan very excited, and I am sure I'm not the only one. With principal photography now underway, it'll be interesting to see what else J.J. Abrams tweets while working on STAR WARS: EPISODE VII. I'm not saying Abrams is going to tell us everything that's going on with his new project, but other directors have recently used social media sites to provide fans with news, information and images involving their films, and I'm curious to see how much (or little) Abrams will reveal about his movie through the different sites.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII starring Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Andy Serkis, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Daisy Driver, Kenny Baker, Peter Mayhew and Anthony Daniels will be in theaters on December 18th, 2015.
