Nicolas Cage is right in front of Left Behind trailer

If Kirk Cameron wasn’t presence enough to get your rapture fix cranked up to 11, then you’re in luck! The LEFT BEHIND saga is taking a cue from AMAZING SPIDER-MAN and rebooting its series with a lead that’s more popular with the teenage girls these days; Nicolas Cage. Now a trailer is here so you can see how many explosions they’re bringing to the table.

For those unfamiliar, here’s the plot:

A small group of survivors are left behind after millions of people suddenly vanish and the world is plunged into chaos and destruction.

Jokes aside, this looks like something that should be relegated to the straight to DVD/Blu-ray category. Obviously there’s a recognizable lead or two (hey Lea Thompson!) but given that there aren’t a lot of religious films hitting the silver screen, I’m under the impression they make decent bank due to a lot of church organizations taking trips to theaters to see said films. While I don’t think this movie is going to make PASSION OF THE CHRIST numbers, I’m sure it’ll earn it’s money back. Plus, we get a hilarious poster where it looks like Nicolas Cage‘s head has been shrunken (below for your viewing pleasure).
