Updated: Jurassic World; Vistor’s Center and D-Rex

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Update:It has since been pointed out that the D-Rex concept art posted is a fake. It seems the look of the creature is still a mystery, but I'll leave the original article as posted for your reading pleasure.

Mild spoilers for those of you wanting to remain in the dark about some plot points.

From the director to the actors to the composer (Michael Giacchino!), JURASSIC WORLD is falling into place. We had a great write-up a little while ago with some story tidbits (that have since been confirmed), and here's a few extra pieces of information to whet your appetite. The first brings a big smile to my face, in that we will see a return to the Visitor's Center in JURASSIC WORLD. And this apparently won't be a rebuilt version of it, but the actual version from JURASSIC PARK. Evidently some of the remains of the original JURASSIC PARK were just left in isolation, and the Visitor's Center is one of them.

The next bit is an official tweet of some concept art of the D-Rex. We know that it is a hybrid dinosaur, and can do all sorts of cool things like unhinge its jaw like a snake, or its intellectual capacity. I know a few were weary about what the design might look like, so here's a possible glimpse:

The design isn't anything drastic, which I think is a good thing. Furthermore, the standout "features" of this dinosaur really have to be seen in motion, rather than in a picture. As productions continues on director Colin Trevorrow's JURASSIC WORLD, we're bound to see more.

JURASSIC WORLD, starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D'Onofrio, Omar Sy, Ty Simpkins, Irrfan Khan, Ty Simpkins, Judy Greer, and Nick Robinson, will open on June 12, 2015.
