Kevin Smith sets up a Mallrats reunion with Stan Lee in Yoga Hosers

Comic book fan and filmmaker Kevin Smith has set up a twenty-year reunion of MALLRATS next year, well sort of. In next year’s YOGA HOSERS, the legendary Stan Lee will make an appearance according to a recent tweeted image of Lee from Smith. Considering Smith writes comics, often references comics in most of his films, and has a TV show about the subject, you could say it makes a lot of sense to have Lee in your movie. Lee showed up as himself in MALLRATS with some poignant words of wisdom as you will recall (video below).

Here's the synopsis for YOGA HOSERS:

Hosers centers on 15-year-old yoga nuts Colleen Collette (Lily-Rose Depp) and Colleen McKenzie (Harley Quinn Smith) who have an after-school job at a Manitoba convenience store called Eh-2-Zed. When an ancient evil rises from beneath Canada’s crust and threatens their big invitation to a Grade 12 party, the Colleens join forces with a legendary man-hunter from Montreal named Guy Lapointe (Depp) to fight for their lives with, according to the producers, “all seven Charkas, one Warrior Pose at a time.”

Johnny Depp will reprise his TUSK role of Guy Lapointe in the film that Smith describes as a superhero movie, just starring 15-year-old girls. Many from the TUSK cast will be along for the ride including Michael Parks, Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, Genesis Rodriguez, Ralph Garman, Jennifer Schwalbach and Harley Morenstein. Other cast members include Adam Brody, Tyler Posey, Tony Hale, Natasha Lyonne, Austin Butler, and Jason Mewes.
