Paranormal Activity 5 gets a new subtitle and release date

Much like the SAW franchise and countless other horror series that have ruined themselves with too many sequels, PARANORMAL ACTIVITY is struggling for relevance after five films. The last entry, THE MARKED ONES, was a spin-off from the main franchise designed to appeal to the Latin American audience, but the next film will continue the main plotline of the first four films.

Possibly to downplay how long the series has been around, the studio has decided to drop the numeral from PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 5 and will call it PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: THE GHOST DIMENSION. While THE MARKED ONES sounded ominous, THE GHOST DIMENSION sounds like it was cobbled together from a list of words that would make for interesting subtitles. What the hell is a Ghost Dimenson anyway?

I enjoyed the first two films in the series, but from that point it just became more of the same. The found footage format of the films has been done since to much better effect by getting away from the security camera format used so heavily in these movies. While I am almost positive the next movie will use the exact same style, would it kill the producers and filmmakers to mix things up a bit?

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: THE GHOST DIMENSION was originaly slated to hit theaters on October 25, 2014 but has been pushed from that prime Halloween slot to March 13, 2015.
