We are less than two weeks away from Ridley Scott‘s EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS and as anticipation builds, so does curiosity about the films behind-the-scenes work, namely the historical accuracy of the film. A new featurette focuses on just that by letting us in on the historical aspect of the film with Egyptologists even offering their commentary. There is also lots of great footage shown here as well as a great background lesson on Ramses and his rule that is worth checking out.
Personally I’m someone who can turn away from the historical or biblical accuracy of a film for the sake of entertainment. They have to condense years and sometimes decades or centuries worth of information into a couple of hours, that’s no easy task. Without the constraints of a running time, a lot of our favorite epics which have landed heat for a lack of accuracy (BRAVEHEART) would likely be anything but entertaining. So enjoy yourself and if you’re in the mood to buff up on history, I’m sure a trip to your local library can be entertaining too. EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS looks like a great big ride I’m willing to take.
EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS hits theaters on December 12, 2014.
