Jamie Lee Curtis and Emma Roberts join Ryan Murphy’s Scream Queens series

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Ryan Murphy has proven that stars are drawn to his series. GLEE and NIP/TUCK each had their fair share of big names grace each series, but AMERICAN HORROR STORY has drawn Oscar nominees like Kathy Bates alongside recognized names like Michael Chiklis, Stevie Nicks, Angela Bassett, Wes Bentley, Zachary Quinto, Ian McShane, Joseph Fiennes, James Cromwell, and of course Jessica Lange. With his true crime series AMERICAN CRIME STORY yet to cast anyone, Murphy’s upcoming FOX series SCREAM QUEENS has nabbed two names to headline the horror series.

The 15 episode series is set to debut in 2015 and will take a more humorous approach to horror compared to AMERICAN HORROR STORY, but true to the new series title, they will have a scream queen. Deadline reports that HALLOWEEN actress Jamie Lee Curtis, one of the original scream queens, will join the series in an unspecified role. She will be joined by AMERICAN HORROR STORY veteran Emma Roberts who will also appear on the series.

The only details of SCREAM QUEENS is that it will follow a college campus rocked by a series of murders. Aside from that, we have no idea what to expect from the show. AMERICAN HORROR STORY has proven to be one of the more unique shows on television even if it has been inconsistent in it’s execution. Here’s hoping this casting is just the tip of what is to come.
