For a show built on the legacy of the movie franchise it takes its name from, it seems to be choosing the wrong elements to remind us of that fact. MTV’s Scream TV series won't have the Ghostface mask and instead might have one made of flesh and now there are reports that the show will attempt recreate Drew Barrymore’s iconic opening death scene from SCREAM.

The news came from Bloody Disgusting, but actress Bella Thorne also confirmed her involvement during a Yahoo Celebrity Facebook Q&A. When a fan asked if she’ll appear in the first episode, Thorne replied: "yes it is true. i will re-enact the famous scene of drew barrymore in the original series."

Here is a taste of that great scene:

I'm not sure if the creators of the show will be too happy to hear that revelation exposed but hell, it might actually help get people to care about this series right? There has been talk that the show will revolve around "a YouTube viral video gone wrong" that serves as the "catalyst for a murder and opens up a window to the town’s troubled past." So perhaps the shows connection to the movie series is that it’s found that someone filmed Casey Becker’s death when it initially happened and now it’s been uploaded after all these years. That’s my hypothesis anyways; having it as a re-enactment means they could get away with that with this using the right angles.

What do you think they’re doing re-enact this scene?
