Taylor Lautner is up for bike riding and parkour in the trailer for Tracers

Remember that awesome bike messenger/crime movie with Joseph Gordon-Levitt called PREMIUM RUSH? It also had Michael Shannon in it and followed the best bike messenger in New York as he evaded the cops and criminals using his skills on two wheels? Yeah, that is because it sucked. The concept of a movie about bike messengers should be completely ignored as it is not a subject worth exploring on the big screen. Now, if you throw in parkour, maybe I will watch it.

Taylor Lautner, who has been a non-factor in movies since TWILIGHT ended, is back and ready to revitalize the bike messenger sub-genre with parkour action in this new international trailer for TRACERS. I shit you not, this is a real movie that is being theatrically released. Well, in Thailand at least.

TRACERS is an action thriller that follows New York City bicycle messenger, Cam (Lautner) who is the hottest thing on two wheels, but is in debt to an organized crime gang. When he crashes his bike into a sexy stranger, Nikki (Marie Avgeropoulos), Cam is immediately seduced by her and the thrill of the high-stakes world of parkour.

I remember hearing about this movie over a year ago and didn't think it would actually get made, but here we have the international trailer for the film that looks like it is hitting theaters on Christmas Day in Thailand. Not suprisingly, there is no domestic release yet but I am sure there will be a spot for it in your local Redbox. This movie just looks bad. The use of parkour is already woefully past the popularity for the sport which was put to use back in CASINO ROYALE. Even the recent Paul Walker film BRICK MANSIONS felt too late to use the urban sport as a plot element.

TRACERS also stars Leslie Bohem, Matt Johnson, Kevin Lund, T.J. Scott, Marie Avgeropoulos, Rafi Gavron and Adam Rayner, all names I am sure you would have to use IMDb to verify are not random letters put in a row for this article. Here's hoping if Taylor Lautner plans to keep making movies that he picks better scripts than this.
