If you're looking for inspiration, look no further than Superman's foster dad, Kevin Costner. His latest picture, MCFARLAND USA, is based on the true story of Coach Jim White who built a latino cross-country team in the economically challenged town of McFarland. Odds shall be overcome, friendships will be forged and lots of running will ensue in this Disney picture directed by Niki Caro (NORTH COUNTRY, WHALE RIDER). If you want a little taste of what it's like to pursue a dream, check out the trailer below!
As you can see in the above trailer, this flick looks to deliver exactly what it aims for. Some solid acting, inspirational true story and some nice cinematography to boot. It's not going to break the rules of filmmaking or anything, but sometimes you're just hungry for a cheeseburger, ya know? In any event, it should be fun to see Kevin Costner play off his new Latino family in the film. I'd love for an R-rated version of this flick but I don't think the mouse house would go for that.
MCFARLAND USA will be released on February 20, 2015.
