There's a lot fans eagerly awaiting the return of Ash and his chainsaw-wielding shenanigans on Starz this Fall, and while this teaser doesn't give us any actual footage of Ash vs Evil Dead, it does give you some of that EVIL DEAD vibe that's been absent all these years (remake aside). The cast will, of course, be led by Bruce Campbell, who'll be joined by Lucy Lawless as Ruby, a mysterious figure who believes Ash is the cause of the Evil outbreaks, Jill Marie Jones as Amanda Fisher, a disgraced Michigan State Trooper set to find our anti-hero Ash and prove his responsibility in the grisly murder of her partner, Ray Santiago as Pablo Simon Bolivar, an idealistic immigrant who becomes Ash’s loyal sidekick and Dana DeLorenzo as Kelly Maxwell, a moody wild child trying to outrun her past.

The synopsis for Ash vs Evil Dead:

Bruce Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.

The 10-episode first season of the half-hour series will be executive produced by Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, Bruce Campbell, who served as the original filmmakers of the EVIL DEAD series. Fortunately for us, Raimi will also be directing the pilot episode, of which is being shot in New Zealand. While I'm a little iffy about aging actors/directors returning to franchises that made them famous, there's such a huge swell of passion for the franchise from these guys. I'll take Campbell pretty much any way I can get him, so bring on the show!

Ash vs Evil Dead arrives in late 2015.
