Brian Grazer says 17 more episodes of Arrested Development are coming

Ever since the latest run of episodes debuted on Netflix, fans of Arrested Development have been playing the waiting game as to whether we would see the further misadventures of the Bluth family on the streaming service. The fifth season has had no concrete plans in over a year despite everyone from Netflix's Ted Sarandos to cast-members saying it was coming. Now, producer Brian Grazer seems to be giving us a definitive answer.

Speaking with Grantland, Grazer dropped the following.

“I love Arrested Development but it was never a huge thing. But people are loyal to it, and we’re going to do another 17 episodes. So stay tuned for Arrested Development.”

Grazer is right in saying that the former FOX series was never a ratings powerhouse but it has done phenomenally well on DVD. The fourth season was structured oddly since it was made to fit into the busy schedules of stars Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, Jeffrey Tambor, and Michael Cera, but everyone involved seems passionate about working together. Hopefully they find a way to make the next season happen without utilizing green screen and editing tricks which detracted somewhat from the last run of episodes.

Arrested Development currently does not have a concrete date for production or release but I wouldn't anticipate seeing until 2016 at the earliest.
