Kate Beckinsale to throw on her leather suit once again for Underworld 5

We've known of a fifth entry (be it a proper sequel or a reboot) in the UNDERWORLD franchise for some time now, but it was up in the air as to whether or not series star Kate Beckinsale would return. Even though we've already had an UNDERWORLD film without Beckinsale, I don't think many fans were relishing the idea of another Selene-less outing. Thankfully Kate Beckinsale will once again be throwing on her leather suit as THR has announced that she will be returning as Selene for the fifth installment of the UNDERWORLD series.

We don't know much about the script, which comes to us from Cory Goodman, but it is said to focus on "a new and younger generation of vampires and werewolves who are locked in a seemingly never-ending battle between supernatural races." So business as usual I suppose? UNDERWORLD 5 will be directed by Anna Foerster, who will likely be making her feature directorial debut on the film. Theo James, who starred alongside Beckinsale in UNDERWORLD: AWAKENING, will be returning as well. The sequel will shoot in Prague this October.

The UNDERWORLD films haven't exactly been critical darlings, but they're always been reliable when it comes to pure entertainment value.
