Tim Meadows joins The Lonely Island movie, which now has a proper title

The Lonely Island film began production just a few days ago with Jorma Taccone, Akiva Schaffer, and Andy Samberg feeling "seriously zazzed" about the film which went by the title of TOP SECRET LONELY ISLAND MOVIE. This first Lonely Island feature is said to parody those fluffy music documentaries such as JUSTIN BIEBER: NEVER SAY NEVER and KATY PERRY: PART OF ME as it centers on a rapper (Samberg) named Conner "whose album bombs and leaves him with little career choice other than to re-form his old boy band" Judd Apatow will be producing with Schaffer and Taccone taking on directing duties.

Andy Samberg is adding another Saturday Night Live alum to the cast; Deadline reports that Tim Meadows has signed on to the film in the role of Harry, Conner’s constantly upbeat and overworked manager. Speaking of Conner, that brings us to the new title for the film: CONNER4REAL. I liked TOP SECRET LONELY ISLAND MOVIE a little more but what can you do? Bitch on the internet I suppose.

In addition to Samberg, Schaffer, Taccone, and Meadows, we also know that Sarah Silverman has joined the cast as "the rapper’s sharp and sarcastic publicist who has to suffer many indignities." There's no release date set but I'm sure we can expect the film to arrive sometime next year.
