The KUNG FU PANDA series has been surprisingly consistent in its quality over the years, telling the transformative hero’s tale of a fat panda as he becomes a kung fu master. Considering some of the other family fare that gets thrown at kids (::coughcough::anything MADAGASCAR::coughcough::), KUNG FU PANDA really stands out. And the films have also been money makers for DreamWorks Animation for that very reason, so it’s easy to understand why they’d go back to the well for a third time.
That’s why KUNG FU PANDA 3 is on the docket for January, with Jack Black once again reprising his role as Po, this time needing to overcoming complacency in order to find greatness and his own true self and fighting another supervillain that threatens the world.
DreamWorks Animation has dropped another look at the film, which doesn’t seem to have the same pop as the previous two efforts, but still has a few humorous gags nonetheless that are sure to prompt kids to beg their parents to take them opening weekend.
KUNG FU PANDA 3 kicks down the doors at your local theater on January 29, 2016.
