The moment has finally arrived. "Bat of Gotham vs. Son of Krypton. The greatest gladiator match in the history of the world." After an announcement that brought down the roof of Hall H at SDCC in 2014, BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE has arrived, kicking off the official start of the DCEU, the expanded cinematic universe of DC's superhero properties. Director Zack Snyder set the tone for this new world with 2013's MAN OF STEEL and now brings in some of the comic company's serious heavy hitters to join Superman (Henry Cavill), including Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), and Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) with the promise of more to come in the next follow up, JUSTICE LEAGUE PARTS 1 & 2, which will see the likes of Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and The Flash (Ezra Miller), to name just a few. Drawing heavy inspiration from Frank Miller's classic "The Dark Knight Returns" battle royale between Supes and Bats, BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE incorporates more than just a standalone story, but a framework for the entire DCEU, laying the foundation for all the films that will follow, including August's SUICIDE SQUAD. The question now is: did they pull it off?

BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE has been one of the most fiercely debated films amongst fans on the Internet, spawning a duality of defense and hatred without anyone having seen the entire film. The divisiveness has echoed similarly with what MAN OF STEEL went through, as many objected to the darker tone, while others applauded it. So, how have critics responded? So far, the film sits at PERCENT at Rotten Tomatoes. Our own Eric Walkuski gave the film a score of 5/10, saying it "left me feeling depressed and uninvolved, and far from excited about what's the come in the many (many) movies to follow. I wanted to like this movie, was rooting for it, and it didn't deliver.". By contrast, Chris Bumbray gave it 7/10, saying it's "an exciting time at the movies and a real epic stab at creating a new world." And The Arrow gave it a 6/10 on his end. Now, it's your turn.
