I still haven't gotten a chance to see Yorgos Lanthimos' THE LOBSTER yet, which really bums me out because I've heard nothing but fantastic things about the film. The dystopian dramedy has received critical acclaim from critics (you can check out JimmyO and Chris Bumbray's reviews here and here), and it won the Jury Prize at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.
THR is reporting that Nicole Kidman may join Colin Farrell in a new movie from the director titled THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER. The project is being described as "a psychological revenge thriller with a hint of supernatural thrown in," and Lanthimos co-penned its script with his THE LOBSTER co-writer Efthymis Filippou.
Farrell has signed on to star as "a successful surgeon who attempts to integrate a teenager into his family, but when the teen’s actions grow increasingly sinister, the doctor is forced to make an unthinkable sacrifice," while Kidman is in talks to play Farrell's wife. A24 will handle the domestic distribution of THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER, which is aiming for an August production start date.
