Critique:
If you love Kevin Smith’s previous work, I have no fuckin’ doubt in my fuckin’ mind that you will fuckin’ love this fuckin’ movie! Why…because it’s fuckin’ funny, that’s why!! (read note at the end of review about the swearing). Here’s a film packed with a truckload of very funny dick, gay and fart jokes, various other movie in-jokes and cameos, cameos, cameos. But the main star of this film is Jason Mewes, and he kicks it all over the place. He swears, he rumbles, he makes out with babes and he almost gets ol’ Silent Bob to blow him…you gotta see it to believe it! On a personal note, one of the reasons that I got into screenwriting myself was because of Kevin Smith and Tarantino, and with this film, Smith continues to pump out great comedy, snappy dialogue and original tales from his mind. I cracked my ass off during this the whole Affleck/Damon “Good Will Hunting 2” scene, loved the way that Smith integrated everything pop-culture (and much of it very recent) into his film and included a nice “homage” to the whole Internet movie message board underground (I especially loved the way that they handled some of them near the end of the film, but once again, you gotta see it yourself…).

A couple of small things that didn’t blow me away as much as the rest of the film were the Morris Day and the Time ending and the whole chimp thing, but those are two very small complaints for an otherwise hilarious movie. Oh yeah, and did I mention that this film also features Smith’s best directing work to date (you see, he can do it if he just puts his mind to it), a great use of soundtrack and score and some super-hot babes in black leather!?! Fuck me and the horse I rode in on to see this flick because I had a blast!!! Ironically, Smith actually uses a line similar to one that I wrote in one of my own scripts a few years ago, and God knows that completely made my night (if I’m actually on some sort of parallel universe similar wave length as the great Kevin Smith, well…maybe there’s hope for me yet). All in all, this movie packs the laughs, packs the fun, packs the originality and packs it all up in a neat bow-tie to end one of the better movie series of our recent times: the View Askew collection!

Be forewarned…and the reason that I was fuckin’ swearing in the first line of this fuckin’ review is because this fuckin’ movie doesn’t give a shit about any fuckin’ shit like that. If you’re turned off by swearing, blowjob talk, anal sex, homosexuality, fucking, sucking and everything else that you might find in the dirtiest kitchen sink of the dirtiest whorehouse in your town, then this movie is definitely not for you. But for everyone else, go in there and enjoy the funniest comedy of the fuckin’ summer.
