Review:

Okay, so this movie is basically just a poor man’s version of THE FUGITIVE, but what can I say, I still enjoyed it despite its redundancy, and was really quite into it by its final few scenes (although it did run on for a little too long).

Sure, Tommy Lee Jones is basically playing the same hard-nosed agent as in THE FUGITIVE, but the bastard does it well, so I can’t really blame him. On the other hand, I didn’t buy Robert Downey Jr. in there as an “action”-type guy, but did like Wesley Snipes as the fugitive, and especially, his bald head.

They could also have called this film PLANES, TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES (PART 2) because the escapee basically went through every single mode of transportation over the course of the picture, and even “pulled a Batman”, swinging across a building on a wire, at one point. A very cool scene, btw.

Actually, most of the stunt scenes in this film were pretty well shot, although the basic premise did get a little stale sometimes. Let’s chase him here, let’s chase him there. Oops, we missed him here, we missed him there. I don’t know.

In the end, I would still definitely recommend this movie as a solid stay-at-home action film for those looking to take their mind of things for a couple of hours. The movie doesn’t have the same tense attitude as its predecessor, but it certainly provides for plenty of entertainment and a decent “mistaken identity” plot.
