In addition to presenting some suberb superhero action, CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR also introduced us to Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa, the prince of the African nation of Wakanda who must take over the throne after his father’s murder. Boseman was one of the many highlights of CIVIL WAR and anticipation is high for the upcoming BLACK PANTHER standalone film. Production is due to kick off early next year but the casting process is still underway.

Variety reports that Forest Whitaker (ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY) is the latest to join up with BLACK PANTHER and he'll be filling the role of Zuri, an elder stateman in Wakanda. It doesn't sound like a particularly large role, but a little Forest Whitaker is always welcome. Daniel Kaluuya (SICARIO) and Florence Kasumba will also make appearances in BLACK PANTHER, with Kaluuya playing T'Challa confidant W'Kabi and Kasumba reprising her CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR role of Ayo, a member of the Dora Milaje and the head of security for T'Challa. Ryan Coogler's BLACK PANTHER also stars Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, and Danai Gurira.

BLACK PANTHER hits theaters on February 16, 2018.
