As the comic lore goes, Dr. Zander Rice's father worked on the Weapon X program and was actually killed when Wolverine escaped. Zander picked up his father's work, hoping to recreate Weapon X. Along with Dr. Sarah Kinney, he succeeded in making a female clone of Wolverine, who he named Laura and gave adamantium claws to. I don't know how great an idea THAT was, but you can check out some of the process in this new promotional clip from LOGAN!
Given her age, Laura has all sorts of problems that Logan never really had to deal with. I really hope that the upcoming film tackles some of these issues, as I'd love to see what Wolverine would have to say about it. Suffice it to say that LOGAN looks to explore themes that no other X-Men film has, and for that reason, I'm really excited to see the final product!
LOGAN opens in theaters on March 3, 2017.
