Legion’s Noah Hawley to helm Pale Blue Dot & Buried Bodies dramas for Fox

These days, Noah Hawley has become quite the busy dude. Which is awesome, because he is one talented individual who knows his way around a camera. Recently, he's been blowing my mind with regard to the stunning quality of his new X-Men-related series for FX, LEGION (you can check out our reviews for the first two episodes of that show here and here). Now, Hawley is taking on even more venures as it's been announced that he will helm two separate projects for Fox Searchlight.

The first is a sci-fi project entitled PALE BLUE DOT. With Reese Witherspoon attached to star, the film tells the story of a female astronaut who, upon returning from a mission to deep space, begins to lose her grip on reality. Heh, sounds to me like Reese got a touch of the space madness upon returning home from her expedition. In addition to acting in the film, Witherspoon will also produce the picture with Bruna Papandrea. 

Furthermore, by way of his production company 26 Keys, Hawley will also develop a drama based on the mid-1970s Lake Pleasant Bodies Case which is aptly titled BURIED BODIES. This sordid tale involves attorneys Frank Armani and Francis Belge, as the pair faced the ethical conundrum of upholding attorney-client privilege with regard to an accused murderer by the name of Robert Garrow. During their time together, Garrow revealed to them the location of two additional bodies belonging to young women. Both Armani and Belge confirmed the evidence, but failed to report their findings to the police, and this is even after one of them had a daughter who was a classmate of one of the missing girls. The lawyers held onto the information until after the killer had escaped prison, which then lead to both Armani and Belge being labled as monsters by the victim's families and their surrounding community. 

There's no word as to when either project will go into production, but in the meantime, you should totally be watching LEGION, which airs on FX every Wednesday night at 10 pm EST.
