I have a confession to make: I never really watched DUCK TALES. I was too young when it first aired, and by the time I would have been watching Saturday Morning reruns, I was already into adult cartoons like THE SIMPSONS, BEAVIS AND BUTT-HEAD, SPACE GHOST: COAST TO COAST, etc. So I never really got the appeal of it.
This is all to say that there's a new reboot coming out for Disney XD, and as I've gotten older I've tried to be more open-minded to different cartoons for various demographics. So I'm curious how I'll feel about this one. Let's take a look:
Like I said, I was never really a big fan of the original series, and this doesn't really seem to be changing my mind. I mean, unless they're dressed in bat-themed bondage gear and punching clowns, it's hard for me to give a shit about a billionaire's problems (but, to be fair, that's just me). However, it does boasts an all-star cast, with Danny Pudi, Ben Schwartz, and Bobby Moynihan as Huey, Dewey, and Louie (respectively), and David Tennant (the best DOCTOR WHO) as Scrooge McDuck. And I will admit, I do appreciate that the nephews now aren't just higher-pitched Donald clones, and seem to have their own distinct personalities beyond "different colored hats".
But what do you Schmoes think? Any fans of DUCK TALES out there? And if so, what're your thoughts on the reboot? Sound off below!
Either way, DUCK TALES reboot will premiere on Disney XD Summer 2017.
