Blech! The internet can be a disgusting place depending on where you choose to hang your digital hat, and in today's topsy-turvy world, you need to always be on your guard when it comes to meeting strangers from the world wide web. Unfortunately, internet predators are a very real thing, and it goes far beyond a select population of individuals who lurk the darkest corners of 4chan, sifting through its coded sewers, looking for their next fetish or worse. I'm not here to wag my finger, I'm just encouraging you all to remain vigilant, and to always bring a friend when meeting up with persons unknown.
Today, it's been announced that actors Stanley Tucci, Nathan Fillion, and Minka Kelly will join Henry Cavill, Ben Kingsley, Alexandra Daddario, Brendan Fletcher, and Mpho Koaho for David Raymond's psychological thriller, NOMIS. The film centers on an American police force that snares an online predator, only to then discover that the depth and depravity of their crimes goes far beyond anything they'd anticipated.
Raymond will direct the picture in addition to writing the script. He'll also be producing alongside Fortitude's Robert Ogden Barnum, Arise Pictures' Chris Petit, Buffalo Gal's Jeff Beesley and Rick Dugdale.
This cast is impressive, no? A lot of these stars have been very busy while filming other projects in recent months, including Nathan Fillion who contributed to James Gunn's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2, Stanley Tucci who played Jack Warner on the FX series FEUD, and Alexandra Daddario just finished playing Summer Quinn in the upcoming reboot of BAYWATCH starring Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, and yup, Pamela Anderson.
Cameras have already started to roll on NOMIS and the film is expected for a 2018 release. While you're waiting for the movie to hit theaters, you can seek out Raymond's short-film, THE OTHER MAN, which was released in 2013.
