Sing it with me now! "Life is like a hurricane. Here in Duckburg! Race cars, lasers, aeroplanes. It's a duck-blur!" C'mon, you know the words! "Might solve a mystery, or re-write history! Ducktales! Woo-oo!" Nice! Give yourselves a round of applause, and keep those hands clapping, because it's been announced that Capcom is remastering 6 of its Nintendo Entertainment System titles based on the Disney Afternoon line up of the late 80s and early 90s! The compilation is called The Disney Afternoon Collection and will feature remastered versions of both Ducktales 1 & 2, Chip 'n Dale's Rescue Rangers 1 & 2, Darkwing Duck and the Talespin video games.
Anyone who's played these nostalgic 2D platformers knows of their stellar quality, so what if I told you that even more features are being added to the mix in an attempt to make them even better? You'd like that, woudln't you? Yeah you would. It's true. Along with each game getting up-scaled to match the graphical quality of current-gen systems, each title will be adding both Boss Rush and Time Attack modes to the Options menu. Additionally, there will also be a rewind mechanic inserted into the games for players who are uncomfortable with challenging platform sequences. Of course, the only people who will actually use this mode will be noobs and others who should hang their heads in shame. There will also be in-game museums featuring facts and images from the original game releases.
The Disney Afternoon Collection is coming to Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 on April 18. In the immortal words of Wayne Campbell, "It will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine."
