With The Flash losing some of its series regulars, it must come as good news for the fans that other series regulars have officially been secured for next season. It has been announced that Jesse L. Martin, Candice Patton, and Danielle Panabaker have signed new deals with Warner Bros. Television to come back for season 8.
The trio will join series lead Grant Gustin, whose contract already went through season 8. Martin's, Patton's, and Panabaker's contracts wrapped at the end of season 7 so it was important to get them back for season 8. There was very little doubt that they would return but now that the ink is dry, fans can rest a bit easier heading into the new season.
What's unclear is if season 8 will be the last season of The Flash. Some signs point to this being the case as it seems like The CW DC shows are fading a bit and the remaining two Flash original cast members, Tom Cavanagh and Carlos Valdez, have departed ahead of season 8. Arrow ended after 8 seasons. Seems fitting that this might be the case for The Flash.
On The Flash, Martin plays CCPD detective Joe West, a legal guardian to Barry Allen (Gustin). Patton plays Iris West-Allen, the daughter of Joe West and the wife of Barry Allen. Panabaker plays Dr. Caitlin Snow, a bioengineer who works at S.T.A.R. Labs. All three have played alter ego characters and have appeared on other Arrowverse series and crossovers.
Are you excited to see this trio return for season 8 of The Flash?
