While we awaited Hugh Jackman's final turn as Wolverine in LOGAN, director James Mangold frequently teased us with some gorgeous looking black & white images. Those images sparked a desire to see a black & white cut of LOGAN and Mangold confirmed that they were "working on it" close to two months ago. It was assumed that the new cut would make its debut on the home-media release of LOGAN, much like George Miller's Black & Chrome edition of MAD MAX: FURY ROAD, but now James Mangold has announced on Twitter that LOGAN will be returning to theaters on May 16, 2017 in glorious black & white!
Suggestion. Hard core B&W loving LOGAN fans should not make any plans on the evening of May 16th.

When asked whether fans couldn't just replicate the black & white experience on their TV, James Mangold added that in order "to make a great B&W version of a film, the whole thing's gotta be regraded & timed shot by shot." Unfortunately for international fans of LOGAN, I'm afraid that this black & white version will only be returning to U.S. theaters. Even if you miss your chance at seeing LOGAN back on the big screen, Mangold also confirmed that it will available on the film's upcoming Blu-ray and DVD release.
LOGAN's debut on Blu-ray/DVD doesn't have an official release just yet, but we can certainly expect it land sometime in 2017.
