Over the past few years, Amazon Prime has been delivering some serious quality television. Not only do they offer shows like Mozart in the Jungle and Transparent, you can now check out one of the boldest relationship comedies you’ll find on television. I Love Dick is the wild and strange adventure of a married couple facing a crisis when it comes to their relationship. That is until they both become obsessed with an art professor who runs his program in a small community in Marfa, Texas.

Recently, we sat down with the cast and creators of I Love DIck. This includes one of my favorites, the lovely Kathryn Hahn who headlines the series. When we sat down with this incredible talent, where she opened up about playing such a complex character and working with her co-stars, Kevin Bacon and Griffin Dunne. Considering she is the main focus of the new series, it is thrilling to see her take on such a unique and captivating character. And she happens to be one of the most entertaining people to interview.

And speaking of co-stars, both Bacon and Dunne were ready to chat about this cleverly titled series. Kevin discussed the enigmatic Dick and whether he saw him as… well, a dick. And when it came to the character’s art and “Dick’s” origin, he talked about the inspiration and the book from which it came from. As for Mr. Dunne, it was impossible not to give him props when it came to his work in AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON. And when it came to I Love Dick, he was ready to talk about the complex on-screen marriage that he is part of. This includes the working with his amazing co-star, Ms. Hahn.

Finally, we sat down with series creators Jill Soloway and Sarah Gubbins. This creative team discussed taking on a project based on the popular feminist novel – the series takes a slightly different turn. And of course they gave high praise to their cast, especially what Hahn brings to the table. Finally, they discussed the “Female Gaze” and crafting a show that manages to do so in a funny and edgy way. It was terrific speaking with each of these fine people, and frankly, this show was a fascinating and fun watch. If you’d like to check out I Love Dick, make sure you catch all the episodes premiering on May 12th.
