James Bond producers considering a “Bond Cinematic Universe”

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

So, it's come to this. So according to Jeff Sneider of The Tracking Board:

A James Bond Cinematic Universe? Goddammit.

Let me just say, I am not against the concept of cinematic universes in general. I think they work great for the superhero franchises, the current King Kong/Godzilla monsterverse, and could've been great with Universal's Dark Universe if they hadn't shit the bed with THE MUMMY. There are probably other franchises where this can be applicable as well, but James Bond? This just seems desperate to me.

But who knows? Anything is possible. And the Bond franchise has always been known to chase trends, from the Blaxploitation films of the 70s (with LIVE AND LET DIE), to 80s revenge thrillers (with LICENSE TO KILL), to gritty reboots (CASINO ROYALE), meaning chasing after the dragon of Cinematic Universes seems par the course at this point.

Also, I've heard some decent ideas around the inter-webs, like one focusing on Moneypenny, a prequel about Judi Dench's M, and another about Q's R&D lab. I'd personally just like to see one about Bond going to the groceries and doing decidedly un-spy-like things. But that's why they don't pay me the big bucks.

So what spin-off movies would you Schmoes like to see? Sound off below!
