If you're like me, in that you thoroughly enjoyed Alex Garland's robotic thriller EX-MACHINA, you might be stoked to hear that Paramount has set the date for his next film. Now scheduled for a February 23, 2018 release, ANNIHILATION, will star both Oscar Isaac and Natalie Portman.

Alex Garland's sophomore directorial effort will center on a grieving biologist (Portman) who signs on for a secret expedition into alien territory. Also set to appear in the film are stars Tessa Thompson, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Gina Rodriguez in a co-starring role. The idea for the film came by way of an adaptation of Jeff VanderMeer's novel of the same name.

ANNIHILATION will plot a course toward theaters and arrive on February 23, 2018.
