We Talk The Only Living Boy In New York with Bridges, Beckinsale and more!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Marc Webb has always had a special connection with the location he is exploring in films. Needless to say that in his latest, THE ONLY LIVING BOY IN NEW YORK, the city is just as much a part of the story as the boy in question. The film stars Callum Turner as a young man who realizes his father is having an affair.. Things get all the more complicated when he himself gets involved with his father's lover. This is an exceptional cast that includes Pierce Brosnan as the father, Kate Beckinsale as the mistress, Cynthia Nixon as the wife and even Jeff Bridges as an unlikely friend to Turner.

We recently had the opportunity to sit down with a few of the cast members. First up was the absolutely lovely Kiersey Clemons who plays a love interest to Callum. Kiersey is fantastic in the film, and she talked about one major sticking point for the characters and I’m talking about the “friend zone.”  That made for a delightful conversation. Things appear to be working quite well for Ms. Clemons, as we will next see her in the upcoming JUSTICE LEAGUE as Iris West and the FLATLINERS remake. You can bet she is going to be a household name in a few years.

Next up we spoke with Jeff Bridges. We started with his earlier work including THE LAST PICTURE SHOW and WINTER KILLS. He talked about how his career has changed throughout the years, and about taking on smaller films such as this. The actor also opened up about working with Marc Webb, and why he is his favorite kind of director. It is always amazing to speak with Mr. Bridges, and he is exactly what you’d expect him to be, a super chill and incredibly kind man.

Finally, we spoke to the sensational Kate Beckinsale. I opened up that it was nice to see her in something a little different from the UNDERWORLD movies – although frankly I’m a fan of that as well. The conversation quickly went into the morality of the film, and how people tend to judge others far too easily. It was a wonderfully open and honest conversation. And yes, she is really quite stunning in this story. If you are looking for something a little different this summer, check out THE ONLY LIVING BOY IN NEW YORK, opening this weekend.
