Upcoming Black Panther toys reveal an upgrade for the film’s villain

Is it February yet? I only ask because that's when Ryan Coogler's BLACK PANTHER is poised to prowl into theaters. Personally, I've been climbing the walls in anticipation for when one of Marvel's most intellectual heroes, T'Challa, makes his way to the silver screen. I've just got this feeling in my bones, you know? Like that movie is going to bring the noise unlike anything Marvel fans have ever seen before. I mean, have you seen the Dora Milaje? Have you heard the way "Legend Has It" by Run the Jewels kicks the trailer into high gear? Bring it on, I say!

Today, Yahoo exclusively revealed the upcoming line of BLACK PANTHER-related toys, and one of them offers an upgraded look at the film's villain, Erik Killmonger, as played by Michael B. Jordan in the movie. Soon, Hasbro will unleash a slew of cool toys inspired by the forthcoming super-powered slugfest that will aid fans in embracing their inner Wakandian warrior. Among several figurines, vehicles, and the Panther’s upgraded Vibranium-powered supersuit is a version of Jordan's Kilmonger that we've yet to see grace the screen. Admittedly, the villan's upgraded costume bears a striking resemblance to T'Challa's own outfit, though there's no telling what lies within the sinister-looking suit until the film's official release.

After the events of CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, King T'Challa returns home to the reclusive, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to serve as his country's new leader. However, T'Challa soon finds that he is challenged for the throne from factions within his own country. When two foes conspire to destroy Wakanda, the hero known as Black Panther must team up with C.I.A. agent Everett K. Ross and members of the Dora Milaje, Wakanadan special forces, to prevent Wakanda from being dragged into a world war.

While I might not be in the market to collect any of the figures, you can bet that I'll be throwing down on whatever Funko Pop! figurines arise from this highly-anticipated film, and I'll be there with bells on when the film arrives in theaters on February 16, 2018.
