It’s teen mutants vs. evil parents in first teaser for Marvel’s Runaways

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

It's not always easy to relate to your parents, but I suppose most of us can be thankful that our parents aren't a group of super-villains known as The Pride, who use their abilities to rule Los Angeles.

Marvel's Runaways follows six diverse teenagers, Alex Wilder (Rhenzy Feliz), Nico Minoru (Lyrica Okano), Karolina Dean (Virginia Gardner), Gert Yorkes (Ariela Barer), Chase Stein (Gregg Sulkin), and Molly Hernandez (Allegra Acosta), who can barely stand each other but who band together to run away from their homes in order to atone for their parents' actions and to discover the secrets of their origins. Before the upcoming Hulu series makes its debut at New York Comic-Con, the first teaser for Runaways has been released, and, speaking as someone who isn't all that familiar with Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona's comic series, it looks promising, or, at the very least, better than Inhumans.

The official synopsis for Marvel's Runaways:

Every teenager thinks their parents are evil. What if you found out they actually were?  “Marvel’s Runaways” is the story of six diverse teenagers who can barely stand each other but who must unite against a common foe – their parents. The Hulu original series is based on the Marvel comics created by the award- team of Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona. The book series has won an Eisner, a Harvey and was featured as one of the Young Adult Library Services Association’s best books for young adults.

Marvel's Runaways is set to debut on Hulu on November 21, 2017.
