Victor Crowley emerges with a brand new poster and official release date

Earlier today, Dark Sky Films announced the official release date for VICTOR CROWLEY, the fourth film in the gore-tastic HATCHET franchise. The new film is set to be released on VOD, Digital and Blu-Ray and DVD formats come February 6, 2018.

Crowley's latest outing came as a surprise to HATCHET fans, after the project was kept under wraps for a total of two years before unexpectedly making its debut this past August. As a part of the deformed slasher's return, VICTOR CROWLEY was shown in theaters across the country as part of the "Victor Crowley Road Show."

Set a decade after the events of the series' first three films, VICTOR CROWLEY reunites HATCHET mainstays Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th VII-X's Jason Voorhees) and Parry Shen (Better Luck Tomorrow) for an all-new, horrifying journey into the haunted, blood-drenched bayou.

In 2007, over forty people were brutally torn to pieces in Louisiana's Honey Island Swamp. Over the past decade, lone survivor Andrew Yong's claims that local legend Victor Crowley was responsible for the horrific massacre have been met with great controversy, but when a twist of fate puts him back at the scene of the tragedy, Crowley is mistakenly resurrected and Yong must face the bloodthirsty ghost from his past.

Ahh, this sounds to me like a classic bit of serialized horror and I am totally here for it! While I admit to not having caught the third film in the franchise, I positively loved the first two installments. As ridiculous as it sounds, I thought those movies were a breath of fresh air for a genre that has grown quite stale with the passing of time. Honestly, I can't remember the last time we had an honest-to-goodness slasher character that could hold his own among such greats as Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhes, and Michael Meyers. It feels good to know that Victor Crowley is still alive and ready to spill buckets of blood into the bayou.

VICTOR CROWLEY finds writer/director Adam Green back behind the camera, with Laura Ortiz (THE HILLS HAVE EYES), Dave Sheridan (SCARY MOVIE), and Brian Quinn (IMPRACTICAL JOKERS) contributing to the cast of the latest sequel.
