Barack Obama in talks with Netflix to create a series of shows

Among the many activities that occupy former President Barack Obama’s daily life after running The United States of America for eight consecutive years, organizing advanced talks with Netflix to create a series of shows on the popular streaming service has become a part of his itinerary.

This morning, The New York Times is reported that Barack, and his wife Michelle, are hoping to launch several programs on the network with the aim of sharing inspirational stories with subscribers around the world. It’s also to note that the Obamas have stated that they will not use Netflix as a political platform in any way, and that their interest in working with Netflix is only to celebrate the lives and stories of those who’ve made a difference in the way the world works.

As part of a statement given by Eric Schultz, a senior adviser to the former president, he told The New York Times that “President and Mrs. Obama have always believed in the power of storytelling to inspire,” Eric Schultz, a senior adviser to the former president, said Thursday. “Throughout their lives, they have lifted up stories of people whose efforts to make a difference are quietly changing the world for the better. As they consider their future personal plans, they continue to explore new ways to help others tell and share their stories.”

In organizing their ideas for content, it’s being said that one show will focus on Obama moderating discussions on topics such as health care, voting rights, immigration, foreign policy and climate change, while another could feature Mrs. Obama speaking on topics such as nutrition which has been a long-time passion of hers since before living in the White House. There’s also a chance that the Obamas will involve themselves in the making of documentaries, with their name acting as a brand – kind of like Oprah’s coveted Book Club sticker.
