"Huh!
Bad boys!
What'cha want? What'cha want?
What'cha gonna do
When Zach McGowan come for you?"

As NBC's much-anticipated BAD BOYS TV series continues to bait fans of the franchise with details concerning the upcoming spinoff, we've now learned (via THR) that SHAMELESS and THE 100 star Zach McGowan has been cast to star as the main villain opposite Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba in the yet-to-be-titled pilot episode.

McGowan, who first stepped onto the acting scene by appearing in THE 14th MORNING (2004), a dramatic short directed by Sean Mullin, has since moved on to becoming a star player on shows like BLACK SAILS and Marvel's AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.. Now, McGowan is gearing up to play the character Ray Sherman – a man who shares a violent encounter with Union's LAPD homicide detective Syd Burnett, who is looking for a criminal he is apparently in business with.

For the spinoff, Union's DEA agent Syd Burnett is partnered with Nancy McKenna (Alba), a working mom who can't help but feel envious of Syd's freedom and devil-may-care attitude on life. Both women are at the top of their fields in the action-heavy, character-driven procedural. Writing on the untitled BAD BOYS action drama will be Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis of THE BLACKLIST fame.

If you're looking to check out some of McGowan's more recent acting chops, you can catch him in the upcoming USA Network period drama DAMNATION, which tells an epic saga about the secret history of the 1930s American heartland, centering on the mythic conflict and bloody struggle between big money and the downtrodden. McGowan is also scheduled to star as the Scorpion King for the Don Michael Paul-directed adventure fantasy feature THE SCORPION KING: BOOK OF SOULS, in addition to several other projects.

So, the question remains, my friends, what'cha gonna do when Zach McGowan comes for you? Let us know in the comments section below.
