New Mowgli poster features the title character as a protective wild child

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Earlier today, the first trailer for Andy Serkis' MOWGLI hit the net, leaving many fans of Rudyard Kipling's classic tale from "The Jungle Book" awe-struck by the film's serious tone and emphasis on action over family-friendly spectacle. Recently, our own Paul Shirey engaged in a chat with the movie's director and star, Andy Serkis, which you can check out here. During their time together, Serkis talks about the influence of the Jon Favreau-directed Jungle Book film (2016), what it was like to helm his first big-budget feature, as well as how he landed MOWGLI's star-studded cast of voice actors and much more.

Following up the release of the trailer, Warner Bros. has now shared a brand-new poster for the film, which features the fantasy movie's title character, Mowgli, looking rather battle-torn and ready to die for his jungle home.

You can check it out for yourself below:

In MOWGLI, a human child raised by wolves, must face off against a menacing tiger named Shere Khan, as well as his own origins.

The upcoming jungle adventure stars the voices of Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Andy Serkis, Christian Bale, Peter Mullan, Eddie Marsan, Matthew Rhys, Naomie Harris, Tom Hollander and more.

MOWGLI will triumphantly march into theaters on Ocotober 19, 2019.
