Even with every Avenger known to man making their way to theaters this year the little horror flick A QUIET PLACE was able to make a lot of noise with moviegoers. The critically-acclaimed horror movie from director John Krasinski and starring Emily Blunt stands as one of the biggest and best-reviewed hits of the year. You will soon be able to take the movie home and relive the terror over and over again as Paramount has announced that the film will hit Digital and Blu-ray June 26 and July 10.
Anyone interested in grabbing a physical copy can check out the Blu-ray box art below (which will be the same for the 4K UHD and DVD), as well as a list of special features. Though there is not a lot of bonus content, one that comes on the Blu-ray will indeed dig the details behind the amazing sound editing. No, there are sadly no deleted scenes that prove that this was meant to be a CLOVERFIELD movie all along.
- Feature film in high definition
- Bonus Content:
- Creating the Quiet – Behind the Scenes of A QUIET PLACE
- The Sound of Darkness – Editing Sound for A QUIET PLACE
- A Reason for Silence – The Visual Effects of A QUIET PLACE
The movie came out in April and immediately received universal acclaim, with critics praising the film as a modern horror masterpiece, solidifying Krasinski as a director to watch. The movie went on to make over $300 million globally off a $17 million budget, becoming one of the most profitable movies of the year. But, more importantly, it’s scary as fuck.
This is one Blu-ray I'll be sure to pick up, not only because I love the movie, but because the Blu-ray and 4K boast a remixed Dolby Atmos soundtrack that will hopefully make watching it at home as terrifying as watching it in the theaters. This is great because I fully intend to crank it and ensure my neighbors are just as terrified as I am.
A QUIET PLACE hits Digital and Blu-ray on June 26 and July 10.
