Mark Wahlberg brings the action in final trailer for Mile 22

Sure, Mark Wahlberg may be the reason why most people will be checking MILE 22 next month, but personally, Iko Uwais (THE RAID) is the reason why my butt will be in a theater seat. Thankfully, we do get a taste of a little Uwais action in the recently released final trailer for the upcoming Peter Berg film. MILE 22 will be Mark Wahlberg's fourth time collaborating with Berg after LONE SURVIVOR, DEEPWATER HORIZON, and PATRIOTS DAY, and finds him starring as James Silva, an operative of the CIA's most highly-prized and least understood unit. Aided by a top-secret tactical command team, Silva is tasked with retrieving and transporting an asset who holds life-threatening information to Mile 22 before the enemy closes in. The upcoming action/thriller also stars Lauren Cohan (The Walking Dead), Ronda Rousey (FURIOUS 7), and John Malkovich (DEEPWATER HORIZON).

A sequel to MILE 22 is already in the works from Black List writer Umair Aleem, and STX seems to have big plans for the franchise which could potentially span film, television, and VR. MILE 22 will hit theaters on August 17, 2018.
