By far one of the best promotional segments leading up to the release of director Christopher McQuarrie's MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT starring Tom Cruise belongs to comedian James Corden of the The Late Late Show with James Corden, who leapt from a moving plane at 15,000 feet beside a very enthusiastic Cruise.
Before the duo took to the skies, Cruise brought Corden through a brief training session, where Corden invented a way for skydivers to signal to others that they've just sh*t their pants. Their on-screen chemistry is rather entertaining as Cruise reassures Corden that he won't let anything bad happen to him. In fact, Cruise is such a nice guy that, while they're making their ascent, he promises to take care of Corden's loved ones should anything go pear-shaped.
Once the duo reached their 15,000 foot goal, Corden huffed several deep breaths before his diving partner took the plunge. After a few moments of sheer terror, you can finally see that Corden is enjoying himself immensely. With all of that being said, I think my favorite part of the video is watching Cruise fly through the air with the greatest of ease, obviously pleased with himself for politely forcing Corden to take the leap.
You can watch the video for yourself below:
MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT also stars Henry Cavill, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Sean Harris, Angela Bassett, Vanessa Kirby, Michelle Monaghan, Wes Bentley, and Alec Baldwin. The high-octane action adventure is in theaters now!
