Gerard Butler tries to stop WWIII in explosive new Hunter Killer trailer

If OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN, LONDON HAS FALLEN, and GEOSTORM hasn't scratched your itch for ridiculous Gerard Butler action, then worry not, for HUNTER KILLER has arrived. The upcoming action/thriller find Gerard starring as Joe Glass, a U.S. submarine Captain who discovers that a secret Russian coup has taken place. In an effort to foil a potential World War III, Glass teams up with an elite group of Navy SEALS and heads into uncharted enemy waters in order to rescue the Russian president and restore world peace. HUNTER KILLER admittedly doesn't look like anything special, but it does appear to have the potential to be a decent time waster. In addition to Gerard Butler, HUNTER KILLER also stars Gary Oldman, Linda Cardellini, Common, Toby Stephens, and the late Michael Nyqvist in one of his final film roles.

The official synopsis for HUNTER KILLER:

Deep under the Arctic Ocean, American submarine Captain Joe Glass (Gerard Butler, Olympus Has Fallen, 300) is on the hunt for a U.S. sub in distress when he discovers a secret Russian coup is in the offing, threatening to dismantle the world order. With crew and country on the line, Captain Glass must now assemble an elite group of Navy SEALs to rescue the kidnapped Russian president and sneak through enemy waters to stop WWIII.

HUNTER KILLER will hit theaters on October 26, 2018.
